Finally, a book that actually bridges the gap between queer theory and Marxist analysis instead of just saying they're incompatible. The chapter on reproductive labor under capitalism finally made sense of concepts I've struggled with for years.

Halfway through the chapter on the supposed incompatibility of materialist and queer approaches, I realized I was annotating more lines than I'd expected. It manages to make the Marxist tradition and queer theory feel like they're finally in the same room, not just on opposite pages.

The way it breaks down the supposed clash between materialist and queer theory is exactly what I needed for my research. The author’s argument about capitalism and sexuality is dense but incredibly rewarding if you stick with it.
